Finally got the poor thing to sit still and rest.
Poor Scruffy and her cone...
Sleeping, finally!
First picture of what my cross stitch SHOULD look like.
Pattern part one! I have mentally divided each page into four sections...
Pattern part two!
Progress on June 12th.
Small fraction of the complete design...Am I crazy? Yup...
The back of the cross stitch.
Organized MADNESS! Each of these colors will be used AT LEAST once...
Progress between yesterday and today...This is the section that is killing me...At least FOUR color changes PER row! AHHH!
I think that's about all, a little sneak peak into my insanity...I hope you kept your hands and feet inside the car at all times, my insanity, and mind can be very confusing if you get off the tour...
Love,
Christina
WOW. I am very impressed by the sheer size and intricacy of this cross stitch piece. I have one maybe 1/4 of the size of this one I have been working on since. . .1999. I remember wanting to get it done before 2000 so I could be in the 1900's when I embroidered the date on it. It's still not done. :P Poor Scruffy! She looks a little melancholy in the photos but I'm glad she is doing better. Our animals have needed cones at various times over the years and its always pathetic yet hilarious to watch them try to move around with the ginormous thing on their neck.
ReplyDeleteI'll be bringing this to Grierson if you want to get a closer look at it. Its so neat to do it the way I am, at least with the background section. I do row by row, just filling in the scene, its like watching something being printed and section by section it falls into place.
ReplyDeleteI felt so bad, and still do feel bad for Scruffy. When they brought her out I couldn't help but giggle a little at the cone on her head, none of our animals have needed one before. She was frightened when she came out of the carrier at home and bumped into EVERYTHING, but she's getting much better at steering. When I brought her in, I kept her in the carrier so she wouldn't run out the door while I brought some things in, but she HATES other animals, and of course the other cats had to investigate adding to her horror. Last night she slept on my lap and snuggled with me which is INCREDIBLY rare! She's a daddy's girl, but since he'd gone to bed she must have figured sissy's lap was better than nothing! It was so neat having her snuggle with me. :D Mom and I are both hoping that with her having to stay in the house so long, she won't be so anti inside and will be willing to visit more often. The closest we came to cones on our pets was when we changed the shades on the lamps, I put one on my head to look like a cone, and put one on our dog Blondie's head when I was a little girl and we took a picture together, it was too funny!
